RULES
The Following are Rules and must be stuck to. Please do not make me enforce them
- The Editor's decision is final.
- Maximum image size is 800x600.
You may make images smaller in either direction should this fit your artistic vision but not bigger. Part of the dinamic of this project is that a contributor has to stop when they run out of space leaving the plot to the next contributor weather they want to or not.
- A contributor may not have two pages in a row.
- If you get your contribution finished in a rush and it is chosen and you want to brush up the artwork and send in a more compleat version later you may but it is at The Editors decision weather it will replace your original page.
- Continuity is vital. Read the Story so far. If your work conflicts with what has previously happened it will not be chosen.
ADVICE
The following is advice. It is strongly recommended that you follow these principles as they are principles by which I am likely to make judgements when select pages as editor.
- Know the scenario. The World of Lunacy section of this site gives details of the world in which our tale is set. By and large you will have to work with the world the way it is. It's not impossible that as Editor I may change the nature of the world if it allows a really excellent plot development.
- Take advice in the spirit in which it is given.
Some times people will offer suggestions that you may feel threatened by and possibly even a little insulted by. Do remember that these are often just peoples views given in a spirit of collaboration and not an attempt to attack you. We all have things we can learn from one another.
- Sometimes if you make a suggestion about sombodie's contribution they may answer back explaining why they think their way is best. This dose not always mean you have hurt their feelings or that they think you stupid. Just that they prefer their way.
- Sometimes somebody will come up with an idea close to yours and get in on the LJ community first. This dose not mean that you can't or shouldn't put up your idea the way you want to portray it. Small details can make all the difference.
- Sometimes you may see a contribution and it will inspire you to make a contribution that is much the same but with twists of your own thrown in. This is perfectly acceptable but it is polite to acknowledge where your inspiration came from in these cases.
- Make sure we can read your text and see what is going on. There is limited space on a page so remember it is better to put in a smaller amount of action that people can understand than cram things in and make your page unreadable.
- Spelling is important. I can't spell so I would appreciate that if you see a spelling mistake in somebodie's contribution you comment on it so they can photoshop it out or something like that. If you have problems with spelling I recommend running the text of your page through a program with a spell check before writing them in to your picture.
- Balance Flow and twist. Good Plot twists can be the making of a good story, but momentum is important. If every page is a cleaver plot twist people will get dizzy and frustrated. Sometimes it pays to develop the story in the direction it is already going.
- Life is precious. Some times characters die, but if you keep killing off important characters (Or continually massacre minor ones) It can really hamper plot development. Only Kill if you have to.
- Plan ahead. Think of the page you are righting as just the next step in an entire plot. When I have been involved in projects like this in the past I have found it works well to work out the plot of the whole story and then commit the next page to paper. More often than not the next post somebody else puts will blow the entire plot out of the water and require me to re-write it before I post again but that's part of the fun.
